LOCKED BACK IN
Eddie Bolton’s Story
Sometimes adversity doesn’t just knock you down.
Sometimes it takes away something you already fought incredibly hard to build.
Eddie Bolton knows what that feels like.
At one point, Eddie reached 275 pounds. He hit a point where he knew something had to change, so he made the decision to take control of his life.
Through discipline, consistency, and hard work, he transformed himself—eventually reaching the best shape of his life at a lean 185 pounds.
Then everything changed.
Eddie developed an infection serious enough to put him in the hospital. By the time he was discharged, his weight had fallen to just 122 pounds.
After fighting so hard to build himself up, he watched circumstances outside of his control tear much of it back down.
And the physical recovery wasn’t the only battle.
“Pretty much gave me a sour outlook at life and I got super bitter.”
That part of Eddie’s story matters.
Because adversity isn’t always followed immediately by some inspirational comeback. Sometimes it leaves you angry. Sometimes it changes your outlook. Sometimes you know where you want to be, but you aren’t ready to fight your way back there yet.
Until something changes.
For Eddie, eventually that moment came.
“Then I just decided one day that I was sick of living like that and needed to pull my head out of my ass and get locked back into the discipline of the life I wanted to get back to.”
That decision is what Built Through Adversity means.
Not pretending the setback didn’t happen.
Not pretending it didn’t affect you.
And not waiting until everything feels easy again.
It’s deciding that what happened to you doesn’t get to decide what happens next.
Eddie recognized something in BIGHOSS because he had already lived it:
Adversity can knock you down.
Discipline is how you start building again.
And sometimes the strongest version of you isn’t the person who never fell.
It’s the person who decided to get back up.
This is Eddie’s story.
